Because of the way people pronounced my name, “Hero” became a nickname that stuck.
Eventually, it took on a second meaning.
I found that many of the business owners who came to me weren’t simply looking for someone to enter transactions or prepare reports.
They needed help.
Their books were behind. Their numbers didn’t make sense. Their systems had become disorganized. Or their business had grown faster than their accounting processes could keep up.
My job was often to step into the situation, untangle the problems, get the accounting organized, and help the owner understand what needed to happen next.
